Wave

Year: 2023

Wave side table is inspired from waves on the water surface. It represents the frozen moment of a puddle with a stone in the center.

If there is a stone above the water level, liquid water hits the stable rock and comes back. When a droplet falls into a puddle, it makes waves which begin from the center and expand outwards. Also, when we set a zen garden with stone and sand, we draw circles according to the imperfect shape of stone.

What exists in the center, it affects the shape of waves.

The waves make us feel the tabletop as water. Glass tabletop has a flat surface. The waves are replaced at the bottom surface.

Materials are transforming.  Sand turns into glass; metal comes from earth. However, what exists in the center, it affects the waves and the edge.

From the beginning, water shapes stones, wind shapes sand. We are not able to see the results, but we might enjoy their waves.
